यत्प्राणेन न प्राणिति,येन प्राण: प्रणीयते; तदेव ब्रह्म त्वं विद्धि नेदं यदिदमुपासते.
What none can breathe with breath but by which the breath is directed, know, that alone as Brahman, and not this which is being worshiped in this loka in many forms !
The fact= A child is told that the God is in the puja room, a boy is trained to treat the parents and teachers as Gods, men & women are made to know that the bigger gods are in the temples. The educated categories observe that there are various types of temples with variety of Gods with thousands of names. And they learn that there are many Religions dharmas, panthas and mathas which fight for the supremacy of their respective Gods and beliefs (on sthala puraanaas) etc.
Thus, the Student seeking Brahmajnana is left in a confused state of mind, who is supposed to realize that there is only one God , the ultimate (एकं सत्)! So, it is natural that students take time in understanding the message of the Upanishads.
